Using QuickSub To Make It Easier For Your Visitors To Subscribe To Your Feed

Posted by mridbay | Article | Friday 3 September 2010 12:00 am

You can make it easier for your visitors to subscribe to your RSS feed. With a free and easy to install javascript function you can add the http://www.methodize.org/quicksub/ (QuickSub) feed button to your webpage in just a few minutes. Let me show you just how easy it is.

QuickSub is a javascript mouseover function that produces a list of RSS feed readers that you can use to subscribe to your RSS news feed with one click. You can see it in action on my RSS resource site, just move the mouse over the subscribe link. You should see a list of RSS feed readers. If you click on one of the news reader links it will open up that RSS reader and add this feed to it. You will need the particular news reader installed on your computer for this to work. So for example if your visitor uses SharpReader as their RSS reader then they would click on the Sharpreader link and this would add your feed to your visitors RSS reader.

To use QuickSub on your site you will first need to download the javascript and CSS files from QuickSubs site. The file is compressed so you will need to unzip the file which will leave you with quicksub.css and quicksub.js as well as a sample html file.

Upload the CSS as javascript file to your server. Now you will need to add some code into your web pages. You will need to do this for all of the pages that you wish to use QuickSub on.

Please note that in these examples I have used square brackets instead of angled brackets.

First you need to copy some code to call the CSS file. Add this line with your head tags.

[style type="text/css"] @import “quicksub.css”; [/style]

Then copy this code into the body of your page.

[div id="quickSub" style="position:absolute; visibility:hidden; z-index:1000;" onMouseOut="return timeqs();" onMouseMove="return delayqs();"][/div] [script language="JavaScript" src="quicksub.js"][!-- quickSub (c) Jason Brome --][/script]

Then where you want to use QuickSub place this code in the body of your page.

[a href="http://www.sitename.com/rssfeed.xml" onmouseout="return timeqs();" onmouseover="return quicksub(this, 'http://www.sitename.com/rssfeed.xml');"]Your link text here[/a]

You just need to replace the path with the path to you RSS feed and enter you own link text. All is left now is to upload your modified page to your web server and the new QuickSub javascript will be active.

Blogging Your Way To Success Part 2

Posted by admin | Article | Friday 3 September 2010 12:00 am

(Continued from Blogging Your Way To Success Part 1)

By now, you have already configured your blog name, description, personal profile, and the page template. As soon as you set up your blogging account with Blogger, you will need to do this next:

Post At Least 20 Articles
=====================
While this may sound like hard work, there is no short cut around it. This, you have to do. It is mandatory. Why?

Before you start whining, let me remind you that you are in business. If you are serious enough about making your money then this should not bother you much. Now, the reason I ask of you to post at least 20 articles is because you need to have a REAL website to be in the game of Internet Business.

In the later part of this series, you will find out why this is important for setting up your AdSense account.

Anyway, post at least 20 articles. I recommend you post 25 or 30 articles to start with. Your articles need not be long. At least 200-500 words would do. Post them all in a day, if possible.

Be sure that your articles are relevant to your topic or niche. For example, if you are authoring a blog on Internet Marketing so let all your articles be related to Internet Marketing.

If 20 articles sound very hectic for you, you can source for other people’s articles from article submission web sites such as www.ezinearticles.com and www.articlecity.com as long as they have reprint rights and you include the authors byline. This can give you a good start but be sure not to keep using other people’s articles too often as this can damage your own reputation in a long run. Very soon, you will need to write your own articles. This is your blog.

Keep A Daily Archive
=====================
If you would browse your Blogger settings, you will want to set your archive to “archive daily”. So now, you have at least 20 articles which mean 20 posts. And since you have set “archive daily”, you have at least 20 pages of REAL content now.

Awesome!

Get A Feedback Form
===================
This is the next important thing to do on the list. You want people give you their feedbacks, comments, suggestions and also constructive criticism. This involves more technical knowledge. If you are not familiar with scripting, I have two great sources where you can get the scripts for free and does not require a lot of technical knowledge.

http://www.freedback.com
http://www.bignosebird.com

Set up the forms on your blog for your visitor’s convenience. You want to know what they think of your web site and at the same time, find out what their demands are so you can cater to them accordingly.

In the next part of the series, we will get you an account with AdSense.

Your Book Marketing Plan – Winning Strategies and Tips

Posted by mridbay | Article | Friday 3 September 2010 12:00 am

Many authors hit a roadblock when it comes to putting together and implementing a book marketing plan. You know you need to have one, you have a vague idea of what it needs to include, but pulling it all together into a step-by-step plan of attack is not nearly as easy as it sounds.

A good starting point is to break your plan up into major categories. From there, you can further define and set up strategies for each area of your book marketing plan.

The first thing that comes to mind for most authors and self publishers is book store sales. Makes sense doesn’t it? That’s where people buy books don’t they? It’s true that making your book available to the general public through bookstores is a very vital component of your marketing plan.

However, it is just that — one single component of your plan. There are many elements that will make up your book marketing plan and arranging to have your book available in bookstores is just one of them. Let’s call that component #1:

Book Marketing Plan Component #1

Making Books Available in Bookstores

Now, it’s one thing to secure placement for your book on the bookstore shelves, but now how are people going to know it’s there? Customers can’t (and won’t) buy something they’ve never heard of. This is where the publicity component of your Book Marketing Plan comes into play. Setting up and ongoing publicity campaign is the number one way to drive customers to the bookstore to buy your book. We’ll call this component #2:

Book Marketing Plan Component #2

Setting up and Implementing a Successful Publicity Campaign

Besides book stores, you can also sell your books to nontraditional book buyers like display retailers, book clubs, catalogs, gift retailers, volume buyers (think Costco and Price Club), corporations, foundations and foreign markets. We sell thousands of self published books to buyers like these all the time and targeting these buyers should make up a good portion of your book marketing plan. This will be component #3:

Book Marketing Plan Component #3

Non-traditional Markets

In this day and age, you would be making a big mistake if you didn’t include the internet as a vital component of your Book Marketing Plan. The internet is the best way to directly reach your target customers. It is also the best way to sell to them since you cut out any third parties and retain 100% of the profits. There are many ways to research the internet to ensure that there is a demand for your book and the best ways to fill that demand.

Book Marketing Plan Component #4

The Internet – Your Book Website

These are the four most important components of your Book Marketing Plan. Now you must research each component individually to customize the approach you take for your book.

Your Book Marketing Plan – Winning Strategies and Tips

Increase Your Training Intensity – Pre-Exhaustion

Posted by mridbay | Article | Friday 3 September 2010 12:00 am

You can only build muscle tissue if you can generate progressively stronger muscular contractions, so this calls for an emphasis on finding ways to increase exercise intensity. This should not be confused with exercise duration as maximum training intensity will actually shorten the time needed to achieve maximal muscular growth.

In an earlier article I outlined the ways in which you can intensify your training. Here we’ll focus on the role that pre-exhaustion has to play in intensifying the training effect.

When an exercise employs two or more muscles it will be impossible to achieve failure for the primary muscle as the weakest muscle will give out first. This is perhaps best explained by giving an example. When targeting the chest, most exercises involve use of the triceps which is a relatively small and weak muscle. When performing the incline bench press for example, the triceps will fail before the pectorals have the opportunity to work to failure thus limiting the value of the exercise.

How do you get around this? By first performing an exercise that isolates and tires the pectorals before immediately moving on to the main exercise. For maximum benefits there should be no rest between the pre-exhaust exercise and the main compound exercise.

Beginners don’t need to worry about pre-exhaust routines but when they advance to intermediate level they can be introduced once a week for each body part.

Examples of pre-exhaust routines commonly performed by bodybuilders are listed below:

Biceps – barbell curls and close-grip, palms-up pulldowns.

Triceps – pressdowns and dips.

Pectorals – flyes and bench presses.

Lats – dumbbell pullovers and barbell rows.

Deltoids – dumbbell laterals and presses behind neck.

Traps – shrugs and upright rows.

Thighs – leg extensions and squats.

Reading the Want Ads–Not for Jobs–For Information

Posted by mridbay | Article | Friday 3 September 2010 12:00 am

What? Want ads are where job announcements are, not information!

Wait! Job want ads are full of information if you know what to do and how to use them.

Doubtful? Here are some ideas of the kinds of information you can find as a job seeker. They are:

1. Start by looking for the ads that are in the category of jobs you want to apply for. Cut and paste these job announcements on paper for later viewing.

2. Read the rest of the ads carefully to see if there are other jobs advertised from the same places that you have selected from your own selection. If there are any, that will give you an idea of what this company is doing. Maybe it is hiring for several categories. Example: They may be expanding and looking for employees for more than one type of job.

3. Look for patterns in the jobs that are advertised. If there are many in the health field, for example, then that tells you that health needs are not completely served in your community. (Yes, it may be that this is a national trend about health care, not enough health workers. This is an example of only one field).

4. The most promiment of these employers may be who you target for informational interviews if you notice they have advertised for several positions to be filled. Start your research here to get personal names of these employers. Easy research from your local library.

5. Yes, apply for the jobs on your sheet that you have identified. Look for patterns for at least two weeks to see if the employer continues to advertise for the same position/s. If so, either they have not found credible candidates or the job is not a good one. Check them out with informational interviewing anyway.

6. Continue on your “research project” in looking for patterns of employment possibilities for yourself. You might want to devise your own list of patterns to suit your own needs, not just these.

7. Lots of other people get paid to find these sources of employment. They are often called labor market researchers. Now you are one and can find your own job!

Are you suffering from Depression?

Posted by mridbay | Article | Friday 3 September 2010 12:00 am

Millions of people sufferaround the world from a depressive illness. They think that depression is just a normal occurrence in their lives, which will go away after a short while. If you think of the fast moving and complicated world we live in today it’s easy to feel a little overwhelmed and dismiss how serious depression can be.

Did you know that words related to depression are searched around almost 1 million times a month? Much attention has been centered to this global health problem as one of the rigorous challenges of the 21st century.

No one is safe from being affected by depression because it affects everyone. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a male or female, rich or poor, educated or uneducated. Once a person starts becoming depressed, he or she usually behaves in a manner that intensifies the illness. It is a viscious circle that can be very difficult to break free

Symptoms can include :

Miserable frame of mind over a period of time, sometimes in a number of weeks

Disheartened thinking – negative approach about oneself, the present and the future

Difficulty in focusing and remembering

Feelings of unimportance and desperation

Anxiety – a sense of being afraid – that something “dreadful” is going to happen

Phobias or doubts about specific situations

Loss of appetite and weight loss or, alternatively, increased appetite and weight gain

Disrupted sleeping patterns – not much sleep or wanting to sleep all the time

Physical symptoms – aches and pains, gastrointestinal upsets, headaches

Incapacity to do the usual everyday activities

Thoughts of suicide

It is a mystery sometimes why some people suffer depression throughout their lives and others do not. The following are some physical causes of depression:

Hepatitis

Hypoglycemia

Infections

Brain or nervous system disorders

Glandular disorders

Low thyroid

Hyperthyroidism

Excessive ovarian hormonal irregularities

Note that there are “mental” as well as physical factors that cause depression such as anxiety which is a symptom of depression itself.

There are many ways to improve your life. Sometimes this can involve drug medication and in other circumstances it might not be necessary at all.

Recent scientific evaluation studies show in some scenarios medication has little positive benefit while having the potential side effects that come with SSRI drugs such as fluoxetine or older tricyclic antidepressants. You need to find a resource which can assist you in this somtimes confusing area.

Internet Marketing Strategies: 20 Secrets To Using Free Autoresponder Courses To Magnify Your Sales

Posted by admin | Article | Friday 3 September 2010 12:00 am

Among internet marketing strategies that most marketers are not using effectively is autoresponder marketing.

An autoresponder course is a group of articles or information set up to be sent out separately over a set period of time by e-mail.

People just e-mail your autoresponder to receive the free course and it is sent out automatically over time.

You can find free follow-up autoresponders to use by typing it into any search engine. Below are ten ways to use them to increase your traffic and sales.

1. Offer your course as a free bonus for purchasing one of your main products or services. People will buy your products quicker when you offer a bonus.

2. When you write and give away a free course you will become known as an expert. This’ll gain people’s trust and they will buy your main product quicker.

3. Allow others to add your free course to their own product packages. Their customers will see your ad when they purchase.

4. People love to get freebies. A free autoresponder course is perfect. They will visit your web site to get the free valuable information.

5. Allow people to receive your course for free, if they give you the e-mail addresses of 3 to 5 friends or associates that would be interested.

6. Allow other people to give away your free course. This will increase the number of people that will see your ad in the course.

7. You could trade advertising space in your course for other forms of advertising. It could be banner ads, e-zine ads, web site ads, etc.

8. Gain new leads by having people sign up and give you their contact info before they can receive your autoresponder course.

9. Give away the autoresponder course as a free gift to your current customers as a way of letting them know you appreciate their business.

10. Give away the course to people that join your affiliate program. This will increase the number of people that sign-up.

11. Make money selling advertising space in your course. You could charge for small classified ads or sponsor ads.

12. Get free advertising by submitting your course to freebie web sites. This will increase the number of people that will see your ads in the course.

13. Make money by selling the reprint rights to those people that would like to sell the course. You could make more money by selling the master rights.

14. Hold a contest on your web site so people could win your course. You will get free advertising when you submit your contest to free contest directories.

15. You’ll gain valuable referrals from people telling others about your course. Word of mouth advertising can be very effective.

16. Make money cross promoting your course with other people’s products or services. This technique will double your marketing effort

17. Increase your e-zine subscribers by giving your course to people that subscribe to your e-zine. This’ll give people an incentive to subscribe.

18. Allow your affiliates to use the free course as a promotional tool for your product. Each lesson could include their affiliate link.

19. Promote other businesses affiliate programs you join with your free autoresponder course. Include a different affiliate link on each lesson.

20. Advertise a different product or service on each lesson. If you only have one, use different emotional response ads on each lesson.

May you succeed in making a lot of money from these internet marketing strategies.
